BLOOD TESTS FOR DIABETES:



Blood tests, which are generally doing in diabetic patients includes fasting blood sugar (FBS), PPD, HBA1c test, RBS (random blood sugar test).

Normal blood sugar value (F) 70-110 mg/dL; blood sugar value after 2 hours of food (PP) 80-140 mg/dL, more than this value medical diagnosis is necessary.


Hemoglobin A1c test (HBA1c).  This test is usually taken to determine the average 3 months glucose level.   Normal hemoglobin level is between 4-6%.  More than this value medical diagnosis is necessary.


Random blood sugar test (RBS):  Blood sample is taken at any time randomly to determine the blood sugar levels.  Normal random blood sugar value is 79-160 mg/dL. More than this value medical diagnosis is necessary.
